WATER YOUR TREES

Young trees planted this spring or last fall need up to 25 gallons of water a week delivered over a few hours. Mature trees could use 30 minutes of garden hose at low volume and moved over the area under their canopy.

RECYCLE RESPONSIBILY

Clean, even slightly greasy, pizza boxes are recyclable.

Cap plastic bottles before recycling.

Do not crush cans or they'll be lost in the recycling process.

Learn about Brandymore Castle, its flora and fauna. Volunteer to remove invasive plants and restore the natural ecosystem.

We can't protect what we don't know.

Join Us and Volunteer

Please join your friends and neighbors in learning about the benefits of having a forest next door and helping it to remain an asset for generations to come. With this website and announcements, we hope to keep you informed when there’s news about nature that could have an impact on Brandymore Castle or your very own yard. We hope to do this without charging dues, and we don’t intend to make any financial profit.

Two volunteer events are scheduled each month: from 1 to 3 p.m. every first Sunday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. every last Wednesday. You may pre-register for these here.

Volunteer at one of these sessions to help us keep this beautiful part of Madison Manor Park a thriving environment for flora and fauna. Volunteer sessions are sanctioned by Arlington County’s Department of Parks and Recreation. If you’re an Arlington Regional Master Naturalist or a Tree Steward of Arlington and Alexandria, you can earn volunteer credit for working with us. If not, you’ll earn the satisfaction of helping neighborhood nature.

We can't protect what we don't know.
